Costa Rica’s two-fingered sloth was chosen to be the latest plane tail image for Frontier Airlines on its different routes across the Americas.

Frontier does not only places beautiful images of endangered species in their planes as decorations. It is a form to raise awareness in their protection. Frontier operates two direct flights to Costa Rica, departing from Orlando and Florida

This amazing shot was taken by photographer Jesus Fung, in Natuwa Natural Reserve, one of the Natural Reserves in which we operate. For the shot, all necessary arrangements were made to make sure that the animal was not disturbed in any form.

The sloth is one of the most recent National Symbols, which helps to create new reserves and other efforts to protect these symbols.

In Costa Rica we have to species of sloths, the three-toed sloth and the two-toed sloth (pictured in Frontier’s planes tail).

The Three-Toed is most active during the day, as opposed to the Two-Toed who is mainly nocturnal. Sloths are close related to armadillos and anteaters.
