Our country has been selected as a finalist in the Earthshot Prize, awarded by the “Royal Foundation“.

According to the Earthshot Prize website, this award is

…”Centred around five ‘Earthshots’ – simple but ambitious goals for our planet which if achieved by 2030 will improve life for us all, for generations to come. Each Earthshot is underpinned by scientifically agreed targets including the UN Sustainable Development Goals and other internationally recognised measures to help repair our planet.

Costa Rica, through its Environmental Ministry, was selected for its forest protection programs, that pay citizens to protect forests, plant trees and restore ecosystems.

The prize is a 1 Million pounds found, to be used to continue in the work of protecting our environment.
