The Green Climate Fund (GCF) has awarded our country with a fund of $54.1 million dollars for our achievements in reducing emissions.

These funds will be used in two key environmental programs, such as Payment for Environmental Services (which benefits over 24 000 people who preserve forests nationwide) and Wildfire Control Program, which works towards prevention and fighting forest fires.

This award was granted after Costa Rica successfully captured 14.7 million metric tons of carbon dioxide in the 2014-2015 period.

When you visit Costa Rica, you contribute with a country who is working hard towards a greener, cleaner world.
