Internal and External Auditing
Internal Auditing
Internal audits are regularly performed to determine if the activities meant to improve our quality and the sustainability of our operations are in compliance with the planned dispositions, as well as if those guidelines are being implemented effectively. They are also performed to confirm if our plans and actions are adequate for the achievement of the established goals. This is one is the methods used by the Corporation to ensure that its Touristic Sustainability Management System works correctly, and that it yields positive results in the natural and socio-cultural environments in which it functions.
For 2011, we have programmed audits for the different Processes of the Corporation; this will allow us to have a clear perspective of how well the Touristic Sustainability Management System is responding to the specific needs of the Organization. This will also allow for unconformities to be identified, and to take corrective action on these, as well as, finally, verifying that those actions are effective and developed in a timely and efficient manner.
External Auditing (CST Re-evaluation)
Swiss Travel was awarded the Certification for Sustainable Tourism (CST), for the second time, with a rating of four leaves out a possible five, which is considered exemplary. Through a re-evaluation, the CST Commission confirmed that good practices that favor sustainable tourism are the norm within the Organization, and that there is continuous innovation through new projects and programs, which ensure an environmentally-viable operation; one that is also socially responsible, and profitable.
This kind of external auditing, where a third party checks our Company’s procedures in detail, allows our customers and other stakeholders to have certainty in that Swiss Travel works under effective, sustainable practices and in a process of constant improvement.
